Margherita, Assam

Tea, coal and a town named after a queen

Margherita’s municipal board places the town in south-eastern Tinsukia on National Highway 38, about 50 km from Tinsukia and 542 km from Guwahati. It was named after Queen Margherita of Italy, rail service began in 1884, and the board describes the town as known for tea, coal and wood-based industry; the office of the Chief General Manager of North Eastern Coalfields (Coal India) is here. The town was formally declared in 2003 and counted about 26,900 people in 2011.

Coal, tea and a long colonial history bring industrial buyers, contractors and curious visitors. A credible capability page helps suppliers; a well-told local story helps guest houses and guides.

How a remote project runs

I’m based in Hyderabad and work remotely. There’s no office to visit — every project is handled directly by me, over WhatsApp, email and calls, with designs shared online for review.

  1. Discovery

    A call or WhatsApp conversation about your goals, your customers and the content you already have. Scope, timeline and price are agreed in writing.

  2. Design review

    Layouts and an interactive prototype you open on your own phone and laptop, then comment on before anything is built.

  3. Development

    Built on WordPress, Shopify or hand-coded HTML and CSS, with on-page SEO in place and testing across phones, tablets and desktops.

  4. Launch & support

    The site goes live and is checked once it’s running. On WordPress you can edit your own content, and ongoing monthly support is available.
