Umrangshu, Assam

Dima Hasao’s industrial town

Umrangshu’s municipal board places the town on the Assam–Meghalaya border at about 580 m, roughly 224 km south-east of Guwahati and 112 km south of Haflong. It is named after the Umrong river, a tributary of the Kopili, on which NEEPCO runs the Umrongso and Khandong hydroelectric dams. The board calls it the district’s only industrial town, home to a Dalmia Bharat cement plant; about 10,400 people lived there in 2011.

Hydropower and cement mean contractors, transporters, workshops and suppliers whose clients are large organisations. Those clients check a supplier online before shortlisting — so a clear, accurate capability page matters more than any amount of decoration.

How a remote project runs

I’m based in Hyderabad and work remotely. There’s no office to visit — every project is handled directly by me, over WhatsApp, email and calls, with designs shared online for review.

    A call or WhatsApp conversation about your goals, your customers and the content you already have. Scope, timeline and price are agreed in writing.

  2. Design review

    Layouts and an interactive prototype you open on your own phone and laptop, then comment on before anything is built.

  3. Development

    Built on WordPress, Shopify or hand-coded HTML and CSS, with on-page SEO in place and testing across phones, tablets and desktops.

  4. Launch & support

    The site goes live and is checked once it’s running. On WordPress you can edit your own content, and ongoing monthly support is available.
