Haflong, Assam

Assam’s hill station

Haflong is the headquarters of Dima Hasao, and its municipal board calls it the only hill station in Assam. The board explains that the name comes from the Dimasa words for “ant hill”; a town committee was formed in 1912 and became a municipal board in 2019. The town covers about 12.8 km², had about 43,750 residents in 2011, and has daily and weekly markets, a civil hospital, banks and schools.

Hill-station visitors plan trips and book stays online, often weeks ahead. For a homestay, hotel or tour operator in Haflong, a website with good photos, honest descriptions, seasonal information and a direct way to enquire competes with booking platforms that take a commission.

How a remote project runs

I’m based in Hyderabad and work remotely. There’s no office to visit — every project is handled directly by me, over WhatsApp, email and calls, with designs shared online for review.

    Layouts and an interactive prototype you open on your own phone and laptop, then comment on before anything is built.

    Built on WordPress, Shopify or hand-coded HTML and CSS, with on-page SEO in place and testing across phones, tablets and desktops.

  4. Launch & support

    The site goes live and is checked once it’s running. On WordPress you can edit your own content, and ongoing monthly support is available.

Yes — through a booking-request form or WhatsApp on your own site. You can still list on platforms too; the website gives you a direct channel.
