Golakganj, Assam

A border town on the Gangadhar

Golakganj’s municipal board places the town on the east bank of the Gangadhar river, about 20 km from Dhubri and about 5 km from the Indo-Bangladesh border. An unused railway-cum-road bridge from 1901 still stands, rail services resumed in 2011, Rupsi airport is about 15 km away, and Chilarai College, founded in 1973, is the town’s best-known institution.

Rail, an airport nearby and a college bring a regular flow of students, staff and visitors who don’t know the town. Hostels, coaching centres, eateries and shops that serve them are exactly the kind of business people look up online first.

I’m based in Hyderabad and work remotely. There’s no office to visit — every project is handled directly by me, over WhatsApp, email and calls, with designs shared online for review.

Is it spelt Golakganj or Golokganj?

Both spellings are used, along with Golukganj on the municipal website. This page covers the same town, whichever spelling you search.

Can a college department get its own small site?

Yes, as long as the college is happy with it. I can build a simple, easy-to-update site for a department, society or event.

Do you work with businesses in Assam remotely?

Yes. I’m based in Hyderabad and work remotely: projects run over WhatsApp, email and calls, with designs shared online for review. There’s no office to visit, and every project is handled directly by me.
