Teok, Assam

A highway town on NH-37

Teok’s municipal board places the town on the southern side of National Highway 37, about 22 km from Jorhat and 322 km from Guwahati, with the Brahmaputra about 7 km away. The town covers about 5.9 km² along both sides of the highway; the Government of Assam declared it “Teok Town” in December 2005. The board links the name to a Tai word for a place where ghee is plentiful. About 8,800 people lived there in 2011.

When a town stretches along a highway, a lot of its business comes from passing traffic: restaurants, dhabas, fuel, repairs, sweets. Being visible in a quick phone search — with hours and a map link — is what turns a passing car into a customer.

I’m based in Hyderabad and work remotely. There’s no office to visit — every project is handled directly by me, over WhatsApp, email and calls, with designs shared online for review.

    The site goes live and is checked once it’s running. On WordPress you can edit your own content, and ongoing monthly support is available.
