A new name for district and town
In November 2024 the Government of Assam renamed both Karimganj district and Karimganj town as Sribhumi; the official district website now carries the new name. The district shares about 92 km of international border with Bangladesh — 41 km along the Kushiara and 51 km on land — and borders Tripura, Mizoram, Cachar and Hailakandi. Its municipal towns are Sribhumi, Badarpur and Ramkrishnanagar.
A rename leaves a practical job for every local business: the website, Google listing, letterheads and social profiles should all carry the new name, while customers who still search for “Karimganj” need to find you too. Done carefully, a website update keeps both names discoverable without confusing anyone.

Use Sribhumi as the current name in your address and headings, and mention “formerly Karimganj” once where it helps people who still search the old name. Your Google Business Profile and other listings should be updated to match.
Do you cover Badarpur and Ramkrishnanagar?
Yes. Both are municipal towns in Sribhumi district.
Do you work with businesses in Assam remotely?
