This page is for Lakhipur in Goalpara district — not Lakhipur in Cachar, which has its own page. The municipal board describes it as a sub-divisional headquarters about 45 km west of Goalpara town, with 10 wards and about 15,600 residents at the 2011 Census. It is linked by road to Jaleswar and by river to Dhubri, and Lakhipur Higher Secondary School has been teaching since British times.
Sub-divisional towns tend to have offices, schools and courts that draw people in from the surrounding villages. A clear website helps those visitors find the shops, lawyers, clinics and services around them — and with two towns of the same name in Assam, it also helps to say plainly which Lakhipur you are in.

The site names Goalpara district clearly in the title, address and map link, so there’s no confusion with Lakhipur in Cachar.
