Gossaigaon, Assam

A sub-divisional town on the West Bengal border

Gossaigaon’s municipal board describes it as the sub-divisional headquarters of Kokrajhar district in Bodoland, with West Bengal to the west and Dhubri district to the south. It has road and rail connections and is close to Rupsi airport, and the Madati and Sankosh rivers flow through the town. About 9,070 people lived in the town in 2011, with a literacy rate above 90%.

A town on a state border serves customers from two states, and a sub-divisional headquarters draws people in for offices and courts. Businesses here benefit from being easy to find online by people who have just arrived and don’t know where to go.

I’m based in Hyderabad and work remotely. There’s no office to visit — every project is handled directly by me, over WhatsApp, email and calls, with designs shared online for review.
