A river town known for arecanut

Baithalangso’s municipal board was set up by gazette notification in 2017. The town lies in West Karbi Anglong on the border with Nagaon district, with the Karbi Langpi river flowing through it; the board describes river-linked work such as sand supply and fishing, and high arecanut production. The nearest railway station is at Kampur, about 20 km away, and the town has about 8,060 residents in 7 wards.

Arecanut, fish and sand are all traded onwards, to buyers who compare suppliers before calling. A simple trade website — what you supply, how much and how to reach you — puts a small supplier in front of those buyers.

How a remote project runs

I’m based in Hyderabad and work remotely. There’s no office to visit — every project is handled directly by me, over WhatsApp, email and calls, with designs shared online for review.

  1. Discovery

    Layouts and an interactive prototype you open on your own phone and laptop, then comment on before anything is built.

    The site goes live and is checked once it’s running. On WordPress you can edit your own content, and ongoing monthly support is available.
