Chabua, Assam

The motherland of tea

Chabua’s municipal board explains that the name comes from chah (tea) and bua (plantation), and calls the town the “Motherland of Tea”, where tea was first planted. Chabua lies on National Highway 37, about 25 km from Dibrugarh and 17 km from Tinsukia, with Mohanbari airport about 19 km away. Its landmarks include the Chabua Tea Estate, Chabua Air Force Station and the Dinjoy Satra. The board covers 10 wards and about 9,000 residents (2011).

A place name that carries this much tea history is a story worth telling properly. A small tea brand or estate with a website that explains where the tea comes from — with real photos and an easy way to buy — can sell to people who would never find it in a shop.

How a remote project runs

I’m based in Hyderabad and work remotely. There’s no office to visit — every project is handled directly by me, over WhatsApp, email and calls, with designs shared online for review.

    The site goes live and is checked once it’s running. On WordPress you can edit your own content, and ongoing monthly support is available.
